In a paragraph: Riverside-Salem United Church of Christ/Disciples of Christ has connections with orthodox, mainline Christianity -- two denominations, the United Church of Christ and the Christian Church (Disciples) AKA Disciples of Christ -- and with believers and questers of all types, stripes, and sizes. The congregation, which meets during fall, winter, and spring from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sundays in the Environmental Cottage on 3449 West River Road on Grand Island, in Western New York, sees itself as an alternative congregation (Open and Affirming) with particular emphasis on the environment, peace and justice, food issues, and whatever any of us cares about enough to share and advocate for. In summer, we meet on Wednesday evenings for our Wednesdays at the Water's Edge programs that emphasize the arts.
